The event was attended by Professor Dr. Taha Qureshi MBE, General Zahid Latif, General Asghar, General (retd) Abdul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor of Women University Dr. Bushra, Chairman NRKNA Khurshid Nadeem, Dr. Hassan Mashwani, Colonel Amjad Satti, Professor Hashmi and Dr. Riaz of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and other esteemed personalities.
On this occasion, detailed and meaningful discussions were held on important issues related to the growing division in Pakistani society, promotion of national harmony, protection of Pakistan’s ideological borders and intellectual stability. Participants also discussed the growing threat of violent extremism and effective strategies to counter it.
The event also featured the launch of three new books by Professor Dr. Taha Qureshi MBE, Chairman, Forum for International Relations UK. Participants appreciated and discussed the topics, scholarly significance and potential role of these books in national intellectual debates.
The speakers emphasized that educational institutions, intellectuals, policymakers and social leaders should work together to create a society that is built on the values of moderation, dialogue, tolerance and national unity.
The event concluded with a reiteration of the commitment to scientific and intellectual progress, national harmony and a joint struggle against extremism in Pakistan.
