The government on Wednesday decided to decrease the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5 per litre from December 16 to provide relief to people.
Petrol will now be available for Rs140.82, while HSD can be purchased at Rs137.62
The government also decreased the cost of kerosene oil by Rs7, while the price of light diesel oil (LDO) was reduced by Rs7.01 per litre, respectively.
The rates have been reduced amid fluctuations in the prices of petroleum products in the international market.
According to the notification, the new prices will be effective from December 1
