The dignified ceremony was attended by Tameside Council Mayor Shibli Alam – Mayors of various towns in Greater Manchester – Police Commissioner – Father – Tameside Council Leader Eleanor Willis – Councillors – Leading figures from the multicultural community and others. The newly elected Sheriff Mark Llewellin said that it was an honour for Greater Manchester to recognise organisations that provide voluntary services to the community as a representative of the Queen of Great Britain. Mayor Tameside Council Shibli Alam said that it was an honour and a privilege to receive the honour of the third Sheriff from Tameside Council. Other dignitaries attending the ceremony congratulated the newly elected High Sheriff Mark Llewellyn and expressed their hope and determination that he will play his role well in order to pay tribute to and appreciate the services of the local community. His election is an honour for the local community.
The mutual harmony within the multicultural and religious community living in Tameside Council is exemplary and worthy of imitation.
