The BoostHER Wellbeing Group program organized in Oldham to promote women’s mental health, coping with depression and promoting social connections has concluded successfully. The women attended the program with their children and participated in various activities, which included gardening, self-care, healthy eating, mosaic art and pot painting. The aim of these activities was to increase women’s confidence, promote peace of mind and mutual cooperation. Research has also shown that gardening and spending time close to nature can be helpful in reducing depression and stress and in overall well-being.
The organizer of the program, Amber Usman, said that the program provided a safe and friendly environment for women, where they learned from each other’s experiences, acquired new skills and adopted methods to improve their mental and physical health. Participants, including Maimuna Ali, Sana Ali, Saadia and others, hoped that such programs would be continued in the future so that more women and their children could benefit from it.
