The event held at the Mai Karahi Restaurant in Oldham was attended by community leaders, councillors, social and business figures and friends. Among them were Chaudhry Javed – Chaudhry Arshad – Raja Mumtaz – Mirza Khalid – former councillor Chaudhry Aftab Hussain – and others. On this occasion, Chaudhry Iftikhar was welcomed to the UK, while various issues related to Pakistan and the Pakistani community living in the UK were also discussed.
Haji Abdul Qayyum and Mirza Muhammad Yunus said that meetings with dignitaries from Pakistan play an important role in strengthening community ties. Chaudhry Haji Iftikhar thanked the hosts and all the participants for the lavish dinner and wonderful hospitality. At the end of the ceremony, the participants expressed their determination to further promote mutual ties and cooperation between Pakistan and the Pakistani community living in the UK.
