According to Ug News Media Europe,Today, at least 15 people were killed when two car bombs exploded in front of the office of a member of the federal parliament in Mahas, Somalia.Ug news Media Europe reports that, according to the Somali Guardian information portal, there are officials among the dead. The Garowe portal reported that the explosions were carried out by terrorists-kamikazes. The authorities put the responsibility of the incident on the “Ash-Shabaab” group.
The city of Mahas is located in the central part of Somalia, 300 kilometers north of the capital Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab was founded in Somalia in 2004. Since 2008, the group has regularly committed bombings and other terrorist acts. Al-Shabaab, which took control of large areas of the country in 2010, was forced to leave the capital Mogadishu a year later. After that, he switched to guerilla warfare tactics in the fight against the country’s government and its allies. According to various reports, the group has up to 10,000 militants.
