This meeting became one of the most important political events of 2022 and was remembered as a special historical event.
Parvin Karimzade, deputy of the Milli Majlis, member of the YAP Board of Directors, said these thoughts in his statement to ug news Media Europe.
He noted that in the 19th century, with the mass transfer of Armenians to the South Caucasus by Tsarist Russia, the process of suppressing Azerbaijanis in their historical lands began. At the beginning of the 20th century, as a result of the purposeful ethnic cleansing and genocide policy against Azerbaijanis, our people faced severe deprivations and tragedies. As a result of this step-by-step plan, Azerbaijanis were expelled from the territory now called Armenia – from their native historical lands where they lived for thousands of years and were subjected to mass murders and massacres, and thousands of historical and cultural monuments and settlements belonging to our people were destroyed.”On December 24, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during a meeting with a group of representatives of the West Azerbaijan Community, reminded that the current Armenia was created on our historical lands, that our compatriots were forced out of those lands, and were subjected to genocide. The head of our state also touched on the importance of conveying historical truths to the world community. It is known that during the Soviet era, these issues were kept secret, the generation that grew up at that time did not know the true history, and the Soviet Union presented Azerbaijanis and Armenians as brother nations. Historical facts were revealed only after independence. In this regard, the decisions made by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev after returning to power played an important role in uncovering the truth. The decrees of our national leader “On the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis from their historical and ethnic lands in the territory of the Armenian SSR in 1948-1953” and “On the genocide of Azerbaijanis” are very important political and legal documents in the direction of conveying historical truths to the world community. Currently, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the policy defined by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in this direction. Providing the West Azerbaijan Community with a new, modern administrative building that meets modern requirements is also an integral part of this policy. The noteworthy point is that on his birthday, President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in the administrative building of the West Azerbaijan Community and met with a group of intellectuals of the Community. In the past years, the head of state celebrated his birthday with internally displaced persons. President Ilham Aliyev once again demonstrated his loyalty to his tradition by participating in the opening of the building of the West Azerbaijan Community and presented another great gift to the people of Azerbaijan. The opening of the building of the West Azerbaijan Community has a political, historical and symbolic meaning. The fact that this building used to belong to the Azerbaijani Community of Karabakh is of particular importance. On July 6, 2010, President Ilham Aliyev said at the opening of the headquarters of the Azerbaijani Community of Karabakh: “This is a temporary headquarters for you. After the liberation of our lands from invaders, new beautiful buildings will be built for you in Karabakh. I do not doubt it and I am sure that Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity, this injustice will be put an end to. The territorial integrity of our country recognized by the international community will be restored.” Today’s reality proved how visionary the words of the President of Azerbaijan were. After that, that building will continue to function as the building of the West Azerbaijan Community. It has both a symbolic meaning and expresses the new realities and goals created by Azerbaijan in the entire region. The issue of Western Azerbaijan is included in our agenda for the next historical period as the most important and fateful issue of liberating our territories from occupation,” said Parvin Karimzadeh.According to the deputy, after restoring the territorial integrity of our state in the 44-day Patriotic War, we, as the people of Azerbaijan, face another sacred mission and goal. This is the peaceful return of our compatriots from Western Azerbaijan to their historical homeland. At the meeting, the President of Azerbaijan expressed his valuable opinions and views on the future. We are sure that thanks to the strong will of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar and the determined Victory spirit of the Azerbaijani people, this sacred mission will be fulfilled with honor.
