An investigation has been launched against the President in connection with the killing of protesters in Peru.

According to Ug News Media Europe,Peru’s Attorney General’s Office launched a preliminary investigation against President Dina Boluarte and Prime Minister Alberto Otarola in connection with the death of demonstrators last December.”Ug news Media Europe Report” informs with reference to TASS that the prosecutor’s office published information about this on its Twitter page.”The Prosecutor’s Office has decided to conduct preliminary proceedings on the complaints against the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte, Alberto Otarola, Acting Minister of Defense, former Minister of the Interior Cesar Cervantes and others,” the report said.
The prosecutor’s office said that the subject of the investigation should be “the death of people during the demonstrations that took place in December 2022.”
After the ouster of President Pedro Castillo on December 7, 2022, large-scale protests began in Peru. Activists blocked the roads, occupied the airports, raided the buildings of the authorities and law enforcement agencies.
About 30 people were killed and hundreds of people were injured in the clashes during the anti-government demonstrations.
