According to Ug News Media Europe,One of the effective communication platforms between the society and the government, perhaps the first, is the press. Mass media is also the most effective discussion platform for public debates on the issues that concern our society. Since individual considerations prevail among the opinions and opinions expressed at this level, citizens expect more accurate information from official sources. The experience of the past years shows that the most authoritative address that our society trusts without hesitation is the President of Azerbaijan.
These ideas were included in the article entitled “Sincerity, trust and a dignified address towering over the state pillar” by Ulvi Guliyev, a deputy of the Milli Majlis.
Ug News Media Europe presents the article. The public response caused by President Ilham Aliyev’s next interview to local television channels on January 10 confirms once again that the address of the authoritative source that citizens trust the most remains unchanged. For this reason, our society wants to hear accurate and objective information about the issues that concern it from the first person. That is why the president’s announcements and statements, speeches at various events cause a wide public resonance. Our people eagerly awaited President Ilham Aliyev’s interviews and speeches in the days of the Patriotic War, and received them with such sensitivity, this attitude has not changed in the post-war period, on the contrary, public expectations have deepened a little. The main thing is that the head of our state clearly knows the public mood and clearly demonstrates that he attaches special importance to communication with society. If the President’s personal meetings with citizens and his speeches at various events are met with public appreciation, the interview format with the participation of several journalists attracts the attention of our society in terms of the dynamics of live communication and allows the viewer to follow the body language of the addressee – the first person, whose information is not doubted. let him know. President Ilham Aliyev paid special attention to that point in the interview: “It is true, I often appeal to the Azerbaijani public. It can be assumed that I give my opinion on all important topics, and always have. But the interview also has its own format, its own characteristics.”
During the interview, we were once again convinced that the President is a supporter of open and sincere dialogue, even on the most sensitive topics, and is ready for any polemic. This interview also showed that the feelings experienced by every Azerbaijani are very native to the nature of the President of Azerbaijan as a person. This answer given by President Ilham Aliyev to the question “What feelings do you have when you see former internally displaced persons returning to their lands?” is a clear manifestation of the sincerity and pride he has in our national identity: “Feelings of happiness. I am as happy as them, that is, I am not different from them. Because to see them there, to see their eyes, to see their joy, is a greater happiness than giving birth, an exceedingly great happiness.”
As much as the President of Azerbaijan’s wide-ranging statements regarding the current and sensitive topics of public debates, as the most informed person of our country, increased attention to the interview, the free and friendly environment created by the head of state for journalists at the Presidential Residence also ensured that the interview hit the target. Mr. President clearly expressed his attitude to the perspective of the participation of international actors who took the initiative to mediate in the signing of the peace treaty with Armenia in this friendly environment, both for our society and for the initiators themselves: “A question was asked here about the negotiation formats. After the “passing away” of the Minsk Group, now the European Union has started to play its role, and we supported it. I personally made a statement about it several times. I said we appreciate it. However, if such games will go behind us, then the future of this format will be doubted. France has virtually isolated itself from this process. Now America and Russia remain. In other words, this is how we see the negotiation fields at the moment. Of course, Europe can be, but if, I say again, it behaves honestly with us.”
Nobel Prize laureate R. Kipling has a profound saying. He used to say: “I have 6 loyal servants, I owe everything to them, their names are: Kim?” Why? When? Yes? Where? How?”. President Ilham Aliyev, with his above statement, while standing in an obvious pro-Armenian position, actually gave a message to known circles that still hope for mediation, that they should think seriously about the questions raised by Kipling. There is no need to look outside for the reason for this or invent new excuses, since they are the reason for the public distrust in our society. The head of our state sent a message to the leadership of Armenia and to the Armenian society as a whole, which is trying to avoid signing the peace agreement with a thousand and one excuses and is squealing as usual: “What is waiting for Armenia? Probably some geopolitical changes, maybe he is waiting for something that someone promised him. Because it gives the impression that someone has promised him something… Nevertheless, despite the suffering, the pain, the destruction of everything dear to us, we are talking about peace… But this will be on the table for a while. Then, as they say, we will not be particularly active. They don’t want to – they don’t need to. They don’t want delimitation – it’s not necessary. So, the border will pass where we think it is necessary. However, I am forced to use such terms… I say again, I do not want to be seen as a party that exerts pressure in this case, and in no case, under any circumstances, I have not shown any disrespect even to someone who does not deserve respect. despite the suffering, the pain, the destruction of everything we hold dear, we talk about peace… But it will be on the table for a while.
We often hear from many local and even foreign experts that the Armenian leadership is under the pressure of foreign factors and refrains from taking a constructive position. It is true that Armenia has not been able to conduct an independent foreign policy under its current or previous leaders. However, at the current stage of the geopolitical processes taking place in the world, our society already has this certainty that the argument of refraining from Armenian lobby organizations and foreign patrons is, in fact, an excuse in the hands of the Armenian leadership. While taking responsibility for the peaceful future of the Armenian people, the Armenian officials, who cannot show political will, should know that it will not be possible to hide behind such and other fabricated excuses for a long time. Attempts to evade the political commitments and signing the peace agreement may expose the Armenian leadership to more severe trials and political upheavals. As President Ilham Aliyev noted, despite the deprivations we have experienced for 30 years, Azerbaijan demands peace from Armenia, but this desire may not last forever. Let’s hope that the Armenian authorities and the Armenian society will be able to draw the right conclusions from the current reality.
In this interview, the head of state also devoted a lot of space to economic and social issues, once again emphasizing that behind a strong state and a strong army, a strong economy and the unity of the people must stand. Mr. President has repeatedly stated that he is committed to this policy, directly and indirectly. From the beginning to the end, the interview, which was comprehensive enough, was remembered by the interviewer’s sincerity, unshakable faith in the future, and high statecraft. This message addressed by President Ilham Aliyev to our society is based on his clear and confident vision of the future of our country, his unshakable faith: “I also want to say that I have no doubt that we will achieve what we want. Because, I say again, our past, the speed with which we are moving towards the goal and the results give reason to say this. I am sure that in 2023 we will have very good moments. because you know
