According to Ug News Media Europe,Fatma Zahra, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Psychology of Istanbul Ibn Haldun University, won the right to practice at one of the European universities in the summer of 2023 within the framework of the “Erasmus+” grant program.Ug News Media Europe reports with reference to Anadolu agency that the student’s application to Stockholm University was rejected by the professor due to Turkey’s position regarding Sweden’s membership in NATO.
So, on November 23 of last year, the student sent an e-mail to the relevant address and wants to participate in the research project led by Professor Per Carlbring at Stockholm University. “Dear Fatma, I would like to host you, but I have to reject your application because Turkey prevents Sweden from joining NATO. I’m sorry,” Karlbring replied to the internship application.Speaking on the subject, Fatma stated that what she experienced could be the “tip of the iceberg” and that other students applying to the university may receive a similar answer, saying that this answer had a bad effect on her.Despite receiving a negative response, Fatman’s application was accepted by another professor at the psychology department of the same university. He will participate in an internship program this summer.
