The travelogue of Hijaz “Yarb” by Mehmood Asghar Chaudhary, a famous poet, columnist, writer and author of several books, from Manchester, was launched in Lahore.
Launching ceremony of Mehmood Asghar Chaudhary’s new book “Yarb” was held in Lahore School of Law with the support of Quotation Point. Which was presided over by the famous poet Abbas Tabish. Renowned poet Wasi Shah was the chief guest and senior journalist Habib Akram was the guest of honor. Former bureaucrat Hussain Shirazi, humorist Gul Nokhiz Akhtar, columnist and writer Yasir Pirzada, director of Lahore School of Law Ajmal Shah Deen and Muhammad Fahad (Photo Publishers) expressed their views. While Dr. Atifa Usmani performed the administrative duties well.
Commenting on Yarab, Dr. Atifa Usmani said that the writing style of this travelogue is the best example of prose poetry. Hussain Shirazi said that the pattern of mutual cooperation of Pakistani families abroad is found in the book, which now seems to be disappearing even in Pakistan. Renowned columnist Yasir Pirzada said that this travelogue is so interesting that it will prove to be a book to finish in one sitting. Gul Nokhiz Akhtar said that the author has given a new style to the travelogue of the Holy Hijaz by including the element of rationalism. Habib Akram said that the travelogues of the Holy Hijaz have a history in Urdu literature. The mention of modern technology in the recent travelogue will make it a document of this era. Chief guest Wasi Shah while reading out the commendatory comment of Pakistan’s renowned scholar Ahmed Javed said that no further comment is needed on it. President Mahfil Abbas Tabish said that the writer has given a new dimension to the journey by mentioning the spiritual aspects of Hajj as well as the difficulties encountered during the journey.
Addressing the ceremony, Mahmood Asghar Chaudhary said that the Hajj journey is the holiest journey for every Muslim. But unfortunately, professional businessmen do not refrain from deceiving people and robbing money even in this auspicious journey. So that people do not lose their senses in excitement and do not fall prey to any deception
