LONDON:(Report by Saghir Alam) According to Ug News Media Europe,British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak dismissed Conservative Party leader Nadim Zahawi as minister after an independent investigation into the tax scandal.Ug News Media Europe informs that this was stated in the letter sent by R.Sunak to Zahavi.”When I became the prime minister last year, I promised that the government I lead would be honest, professional and accountable at all levels. That is why, after new information about your personal financial affairs and declarations came to light in recent days, I asked Lori Magnus, the independent adviser on ministerial interests, to look into the matter carefully.
You have agreed to fully cooperate with the investigation. Following the completion of the independent consultant’s investigation, the results of which have been shared with both of us, it is clear that this is a serious breach of the ministry’s code of conduct. In the end, I am informing you that I have decided to remove you from your position in the government,” the letter says.Notably, Zahavi recently had to pay a fine of around £1m ($1.25m – Red) for unpaid taxes before selling his stake in YouGov, which he co-founded. The minister himself said on January 21 that he made an unknowing mistake and resolved all disputes with the tax service before taking office in the current cabinet.
