Inflation jumps to 42.2pc ahead of Ramazan.

ISLAMABAD:(Report by Zeeshan Najam Khan) According to Ug News Europe,Inflation rose further ahead of Ramadan, rising 1.37 percent to 42.27 percent overall.Federal Bureau of Statistics has released a weekly report according to which 29 essential commodities have become expensive in a week. The price of sugar has increased by Rs5, 35 paise per kg in the recent week.According to the report of the Institute of Statistics, tomatoes became more expensive by Rs5, 46 paise per kg, potato by Rs5, 10 paise and onion by Rs12, 32 paise per kg.Apart from this, a bag of 20 kg flour became expensive by Rs69,19 paise and reached Rs1774,70 paise, a tin of two and a half kg ghee became expensive by Rs59,80 paise. Milk became expensive by Rs2,84 paise per liter. Increase in prices of dal mash, rice, beef, tea and salt was recorded.According to the report of the Institute of Statistics, 8 essential items became cheaper in a week. Chicken became cheaper by Rs31 per kg, garlic by Rs8, 66 paise per kg, while the price of eggs, mung dal, lentils, chickpeas also decreased. There was no change in the prices of 14 commodities in the recent week.
