Manchester: Alhamdulillah, the annual Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ gathering for women was organised with great devotion and spiritual enthusiasm by UG Women’s Wing and UG Art & Culture.
The spiritually uplifting programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by beautiful Naat recitations presented by female Naat Khawans in honour of the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Women scholars also delivered inspiring and informative speeches, highlighting different aspects of the blessed life, character and teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. They emphasised the importance of love, compassion, unity, kindness and serving humanity in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
The programme was beautifully hosted by Mishal Aqeel Pinky, Senior Vice President of UG Art & Culture, who conducted the proceedings with great professionalism and warmth.
Sabira Naheed Chaudhry, President of UG Art & Culture, introduced the work of the various UG wings and highlighted their commitment to voluntary and selfless community service. She particularly spoke about Open Kitchen Manchester, a unique humanitarian project which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic and, Alhamdulillah, continues to provide free food to people in need on a daily basis.
Shabana Iqbal, President of UG Women’s Wing, thanked all the distinguished guests, scholars, Naat reciters and women who attended the spiritually meaningful gathering. She said that such events provide an opportunity to strengthen faith, promote unity and encourage women to play a positive role in community and humanitarian activities.
Shabnam Mirza, the programme organiser, praised the dedication and teamwork of all office-bearers and members whose hard work contributed to the successful arrangements of the event.
She expressed particular appreciation for Shabana Iqbal, President of UG Women’s Wing; Tanzila, Senior Vice President; Shaista, Secretary of UG Women’s Wing; Sabira Naheed Chaudhry, President of UG Art & Culture; Mishal Aqeel Pinky, Senior Vice President; Lubna; Sophia Mughal; Sherry; Tina; and all other members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the programme successful.
The gathering concluded with special prayers for peace, prosperity, unity and the well-being of people around the world.
The participants appreciated UG Women’s Wing and UG Art & Culture for organising such a meaningful spiritual gathering and recognised the continued voluntary efforts of the teams in supporting the wider community.
