As usual, the protesters opened this morning with the singing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Later, they performed songs in the spirit of patriotism.
At the same time, eco-activists raise posters written in Azerbaijani, Russian and English on both sides of the road and shout slogans.The demands of the participants of the action remain unchanged, as they have been since the first day.Thus, eco-activists and young volunteers “Azerbaijan is awake, it supports its wealth!”, “Azerbaijan is united, it owns its wealth!”, “Stop environmental crime!”, “Stop ecoterror!”, “Beregithe nature!”, “Ecocidu нет! Monitoring also !” they chant their slogans.It should be noted that a protest action is being held by Azerbaijani activists and members of environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on a part of the road under the control of Russian peacekeepers in the territory of Shusha, demanding an end to environmental terrorism in the Karabakh economic region.As a result of the discussions held with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent on December 3 and 7, 2022, a team consisting of experts from the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service for Real Estate Affairs under the Ministry of Economy and the “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company decided to meet with the Russian peacekeeping contingent. should have conducted preliminary monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the territories of Azerbaijan, where it is temporarily located, and the resulting environmental and other consequences. However, due to the inactivity of the peacekeepers, the monitoring did not take place.The protest action has started since December 12, 2022.
