On 3 June, ( Sabira Naheed ) Urdu Global Women Wing, in collaboration with the Arts & Culture Department, successfully launched its first-ever “Coffee Morning” event in Longsight under the title “Me Time.” The initiative was designed to encourage women to take time out from their busy household routines and focus on their personal well-being, social connections, and mental health.
The event provided a welcoming platform where women could meet, socialize, exchange ideas, and enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed environment. Participants appreciated the opportunity to unwind, relieve stress, and build supportive friendships while sharing experiences and offering encouragement to one another.

Despite minimal publicity, the event attracted a significant number of attendees, who expressed their gratitude to the Urdu Global team for introducing such a positive and much-needed community initiative in Longsight. Participants praised the organization for consistently delivering innovative and beneficial programs, including Open Kitchen projects, Women Wing activities, and Arts & Culture initiatives that serve the wider community.
Urdu Global Network continues to play a vital role in supporting local communities through food distribution for those in need, organizing religious and cultural celebrations, arranging recreational trips, and promoting Pakistani heritage and values among younger generations. Notably, all these activities are carried out through the organization’s own efforts and dedication.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Sabira Naheed, President of Arts & Culture, who also announced plans to introduce Tajweed classes as part of future Coffee Morning sessions. Shabnam Mirza, Patron of the Women Wing, presented a beautiful Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding a spiritual touch to the gathering.

Women Wing President Shabana Iqbal informed attendees that, in addition to exercise sessions, a variety of recreational activities such as carrom board, Ludo, snooker, and chess have been arranged to encourage participation and enjoyment. She further highlighted plans to offer training in handicrafts, knitting, painting, and other creative skills, while promoting walking and physical fitness as key components of a healthy lifestyle.
Joint Secretary Shaista Fazal stated that Urdu Global would continue introducing unique and vibrant programs for the community, including health awareness initiatives and other educational and social development activities.
Although the idea of launching “Me Time” had been under consideration for a long time, unavoidable circumstances delayed its implementation. The successful launch was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Women Wing Patron Shabnam Mirza and President Shabana Iqbal.
The Me Time team includes Shabnam Mirza, Shabana Iqbal, Vice President Tanzila Zia, Joint Secretary Shaista Fazal, Arts & Culture President Sabira Naheed, and Vice President Mishal Aqeel. Their commitment and hard work played a significant role in making the inaugural event a remarkable success.
