The aim of the dinner was to pay tribute to his services on the completion of his consular term. The dinner was attended by a large number of community members – Other attendees included Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Shaukat Ali – Chairman of the Pakistan Community Centre Chaudhry Haroon Afzal Khatana – Former Lord Mayor and Honorary Councillor of Kazakhstan Abid Latif Chauhan – Senior Journalist Tahir Chaudhry – Raja Muhammad Farooq Khan – Azeem Malik – Former Sessions Judge Ilyas Gondal – Chaudhry Muzammil Hussain Bajwa – Irfan Ahmed – Dr. Mehwish Jabeen – Rana Abdul Sattar – The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Younis Parwaz – The duties of the director were performed by the eminent writer and poet Sabir Raza –
On this occasion, Consul General Tariq Wazir Khan thanked the organizers of the event and said that this love and honor is close to his heart. He described the time spent with the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities as his valuable asset. Host Chairman Pir Syed Lakht Hasnain Shah appreciated the services of Consul General Tariq Wazir and said that he served the community selflessly for five years – today’s event was to pay tribute to his services –
The participants of the event highly appreciated the services of Consul General Tariq Wazir Khan to the community and praised his sincerity, commitment and leadership. He further said that he served the community without discrimination during his tenure as the Consulate – it is hoped that he will now serve overseas Pakistanis more as the High Commissioner.
Consul General Tariq Wazir Khan, posted at the Manchester Consulate, performed his professional responsibilities well – due to which the community is paying tribute to him on his retirement.
