An important meeting and press conference of Sunni scholars of the UK was held at the Qadria Jilania Centre, Islamic Centre, Longside, Manchester, under the leadership of Mufti Fazal Ahmed Qadri, a prominent religious scholar and the spiritual leader of the Pakistan Liaison Council UK, regarding the independent judicial investigation into the Mureed incident in Pakistan.

. Hosted by the Imam of the mosque, Maulana Waqar Baig – participation of eminent religious scholars from all over the UK. Fateha was also offered for those martyred in the Mureed incident. The participating scholars included Hafiz Muhammad Ahmed, Hafiz Aziz, Hafiz Nisar Ahmed, Hafiz Majid, Dr. Mubeen, Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor, Maulana Muhammad Sajjad Rizvi, Hafiz Badr Munir, Muhammad Hasmuddin Qadri, Sardar Ijaz and local councilor Shahbaz Sarwar. The scholars stressed that any tragedy that occurred from the Rehmat-e-Alameen Mosque to the Mureed incident should be investigated independently by the courts and the culprits should be brought to justice and the culprits should be punished accordingly. We demand the Supreme Court to conduct an independent investigation into this incident. Justice cannot be expected from those who have wronged innocent people. They further said that if Anas Rizvi is in the custody of the agencies, he should be released immediately and strongly condemn the Mureed incident. The Punjab government has failed to provide protection to the people. They further said that the number of bodies that fell in the Mureed incident is a stain on the face of humanity. The state has failed miserably in protecting the lives and property of the people. One day, the oppressors will have to answer for the blood of innocent people. Quranic recitation was also performed to convey the blessings of the martyrs of the Mureed incident.
Concluding remarks
The Sunni scholars and organizations in Britain, calling the Mureed incident a failure of the state, demanded an impartial investigation from the Supreme Court, identified the accused and demanded their immediate punishment.
