Urdu Global Women Wing Hosts New Year Party with Large Female Participation

The Urdu Global Women Wing organized a vibrant New Year Party on Sunday, 11 January 2026, which was attended by a large number of women from the community. The event’s Chief Guest was Begum Nausheen Imtiaz Gondal, Chairperson of APWA Manchester and wife of the Consul General of Manchester, Mr. Imtiaz Gondal.
Distinguished guests included Mrs. Samia Owais (Commercial Attaché), Joceline Chebaro (Community Relations Advisor and Public Figure), community activist Razia Chaudhry, founder of Burnage Buddies Seema Sheikh, Naghmana Kanwal Sheikh, Director of Urdu Global, Councillor Ayesha, along with several other notable personalities.
The program commenced gracefully with opening remarks by Shabana Iqbal, President of the Urdu Global Women Wing. Sabira Naheed, President of UG Art & Culture, recited verses from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a Hamd presented by Shabnam Mirza, Patron of the Women Wing, and a Naat by Mishal Aqeel, Senior Vice President of UG Art & Culture, filling the gathering with spiritual warmth.
As part of the literary segment, Faiqa Gul, Vice President of Art & Culture, presented her poetry in celebration of the New Year, while Naghmana Kanwal Sheikh captivated the audience with her eloquent poetic recitation.
Extending New Year greetings, Razia Chaudhry expressed her best wishes for the continued growth and success of Urdu Global. Councillor Ayesha congratulated the organizers and stated that the event was held in her ward, assuring her full support and cooperation for Urdu Global in all future matters.
Tanzila Zia, Vice President of Urdu Global, and Sofia Mughal, Media Reporter, warmly welcomed the guests. On this occasion, Iqsa Bano, Sobia Anber, and Saba Kamran formally announced their joining of UG Art & Culture.
In her address, Chief Guest Begum Nausheen Imtiaz Gondal congratulated the Urdu Global Women Wing on organizing a highly successful and well-managed event. She praised the quality, discipline, and professionalism of the program and expressed hope that the organization would continue serving the community with the same dedication and excellence.
The event also featured a lively Antakshari competition among the women. Special cakes were cut in honor of those women who had recently returned from performing Umrah. The program concluded with a lavish dinner, enjoyed by all participants.
