Where the annual fundraising dinner was held for the expansion project of ‘Masjid Bilal’, the only mosque in Prestwich.
The event was attended by the Consul General of the Pakistani Consulate in Manchester Imtiaz Feroz Gondal, Deputy Consul General of Turkey Fusion Aramaz, Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester City Council Shaukat Ali – Manchester Cash and Carry CEO Chaudhry Bilal Ghafoor and other prominent figures. The first to announce the fundraising appeal was Manchester Cash & Carry Chief Executive Chaudhry Bilal Ghafoor, who announced £100,000 on his behalf. The highlight of the event was the full participation of leading figures of the community. From political, religious and social circles, Manchester City Council Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Shaukat and former Lord Mayor Councillor Naeem-ul-Hassan – Centre Chairman Nasir Mahmood – Manchester Cash & Carry CEO Chaudhry Bilal Ghafoor – and Dr. Naseem Mahmood – Farah – Muhammad Shiraz – Lawyer Sarfaraz Rai – Dr. Athar Marghoob – Shahzeb Holland – Irshad – Amjad Iqbal – Muhammad Ashfaq – Dr. Basharat – Shahbaz Hussain alias Baz – and the speakers said in their addresses that this mosque, established since 1998, is the need of the hour for the growing population and the educational and training needs of the new generation. “During the event, the participants were appealed to actively participate in this good deed The community also expressed their determination to complete this project as soon as possible to secure the future of their future generations.
This event not only proved to be a means of raising funds but also proved that when the cause is noble, the entire community unites on one platform
