Under the guidance and patronage of Maulana Qari Abdul Shakoor Qadri, founder and chairman of the representative organisation of the Muslim community in the Oldham area of Manchester, England — the Oldham Mosques Council (OMC) — excellent arrangements were made at mosques across Oldham for the Eid al-Adha prayers.

At the large Eid congregations, respected scholars delivered speeches highlighting the philosophy of sacrifice and the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

In his Eid al-Adha sermon at Al-Madinah Jamia Mosque on Waterloo Street, Maulana Qari Abdul Shakoor Qadri said that Muslims throughout the world are offering sacrifices in accordance with the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), fulfilling the command of Allah Almighty.

At Qurtuba Mosque on Lees Road, Maulana Shafeeq ur Rahman stated that the true purpose of a believer’s life is to attain the pleasure of Allah, and that the act of sacrifice teaches this very lesson.

At Madinah Mosque Coppice, Allama Majid Hussain Rizvi delivered a detailed speech on sincerity, explaining that the lesson of the Abrahamic tradition is that every action of a believer should be solely for the pleasure of their Lord.

During his special Eid address at Bilal Jamia Mosque, Allama Sahibzada Muhammad Tahir Baghdadi said that the entire Muslim Ummah is commemorating the spirit of sacrifice, devotion, and obedience shown by Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

In the Eid sermon at Ross Street Mosque, Maulana Hafiz Ata ur Rahman, speaking in the light of Surah al-Kawthar, said that worshipping Allah through prayer and sacrifice brings blessings in both this world and the Hereafter.
