Pakistani Natsrad Muhammad Naeem Ahmed, a resident of London, UK, was arrested in a false case. This is a very serious and worrying case.
In which Muhammad Naeem Ahmed was named in a case of about nineteen years ago, in 2007, although the person concerned was not present in Pakistan during that period but was residing in England. Recently, when he came to Pakistan to attend a festival and stayed in a hotel in Islamabad, the police arrested him on the 29th from Islamabad on the basis of his name appearing in the system. Later, he was handed over to the police of the concerned police station, where he was kept in illegal detention for twelve days against the law. The arrest was later revealed, which is a clear violation of legal requirements.
The court, taking notice of the matter, declared in its written order that the citizen was illegally detained, and action should be taken against the responsible police officers. However, despite the court orders, no action has been taken against any of the relevant officers so far. The aggrieved party maintains that the police allegedly received financial benefits from the opposing party, due to which the citizen was deliberately kept in illegal detention. This matter is not only a violation of the law but also a big question mark on human rights and the justice system. Overseas Pakistanis and public and legal circles are demanding that this incident be investigated transparently and the responsible officials be punished according to law.
