In a historic moment for the nation, Pakistan has officially made its debut at the official Miss World 2026 pageant, marking the country’s first participation in the 73-year history of the international pageant.
The historic title of Miss World Pakistan 2026 was bestowed upon Aniqa Jamal Iqbal, a 24-year-old student of Masters in Accounting and Auditing and one of Pakistan’s finest international beauty queens.
The crowning ceremony took place at the famous Flaties Hotel in Lahore, where Aniqa was crowned by Miss Pakistan Universal 2022 Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, accompanied by another renowned Pakistani beauty queen, Attaullah Gujjar, Mr. Pakistan World.
No stranger to international pageants, Aniqa has previously represented Pakistan at Miss Earth, Miss Global, Miss Cosmo, Miss Echo International, Miss Aura International and has also won four titles at the Freedom of the World competition in Kosovo. Her vast experience has established her as one of Pakistan’s most successful pageant representatives. Off stage, Aniqa is committed to humanitarian work. Her advocacy for the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose program focuses on helping thalassemia patients in Pakistan. She actively volunteers with the Sundas Foundation, Noor Foundation, and the Renal Care Foundation in Lahore, dedicating her time to improving the lives of patients who require medical care. Established in 2002, the Miss Pakistan World Organization was established with a clear goal – to one day send an official Pakistani representative to the Miss World competition. The name of the organization itself reflects this ambition, and after a quarter of a century of unwavering determination, that dream has finally become a reality. Pakistan’s debut at Miss World comes 73 years after the international pageant was established, making 2026 a significant year in the country’s competitive history. This achievement is the culmination of 25 years of dedication by Sonia Ahmed and the Miss Pakistan World Organization, which has elevated Pakistan to the world’s most prestigious beauty pageants through a nationally-organized pageant held on Pakistani soil. A prominent Canadian community leader and show business figure, Sonia welcomed the government of Pakistan’s initiative and said that Pakistan has talent in every field and we overseas Pakistanis appreciate this initiative.
