According to Ug News Media Europe,An event was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Azerbaijan state, prominent politician and statesman, at the Azerbaijan House operating in Thessaloniki, Greece.”Ug News Media Europe” was informed about this by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.The event was opened by Rashid Mammadov, chairman of the Greek-Azerbaijan Friendship Society “GALA” and the House of Azerbaijan in Thessaloniki, who gave detailed information about the life of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, his rich and diverse political activities.He drew attention to the fact that the genius provided selfless, unparalleled and invaluable services in the establishment and development of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan. He said that Azerbaijanis living abroad, including in Greece, are deeply connected to the legacy of Heydar Aliyev and his Azerbaijani ideology.
Speaking at the event, Turkologist scholar Sokrat Angelidis spoke about the ingenious steps taken by Heydar Aliyev, who holds a special place among the influential leaders of the world, for the establishment and strengthening of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and shared his views on the history of Azerbaijan.At the end of the event, a documentary film about the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev was shown.It should be noted that according to the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated September 29, 2022, 2023 was declared the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in our country.
