(Report By Ghulam Hussain From Manchester)Councillor Abid Chohan former lord mayor Manchester and founding member of Jhelum forum is appointed honorary consul general of Manchester by the Kazakhstan government. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan delivered the appointment letter to Abid Chohan in presence of lord mayor of Manchester, minister Andrew Gwynne, member parliament Afzal khan, Yasmin Quershi, Barrister Amjad Malik vice chairman OPC Punjab Pakistan, number of diplomats of different countries, friends, family of Abid Chohan, members of parliament, local councillors, mayor’s, citizens and delegates of Jhelum forum.
Abid Chohan is in politics from last 25 years and in this journey he has served the cumminity in different position including lastly as lord mayor of Manchester. This prestigious position he has earned with the sincere hard work and humbleness.
His service in Jhelum forum especially in establishing Jhelum forum medical centre kasyial and contribution in other Jhelum forum welfare activities are all factors which are one of the reason of his scussfull career.
