Manchester Chaudhry Arif Pandhir
He was the father of prominent UK, European and Pakistani businessmen Anjum Irshad and Farooq-Ammar-Zaheda-Yasmin Sahra. His funeral prayers were offered at the British Muslim Heritage Centre, Manchester. A large number of business, political, social and religious figures from across the UK, as well as the community, attended the service. He was later laid to rest at the Southern Cemetery in Manchester. Those who attended the funeral prayers included Rana Imtiaz Ahmed, chief executive of Mall One and Tenth Avenue Lahore; Niaz Naseem and Arbaaz Naseem, directors of Gulberg Galleria; Ahmed Nadeem, senior judge of the UK; Irfan Munir, chief executive of MWG Solicitors; Haji Abdul Ghaffar, chief executive of Sanam Restaurant; and Hafeez Group chief executive. He founded the first mosque in Manchester and established the Muslim Youth Foundation for the youth in 1984. On this occasion, his son and successful businessman Anjum Irshad said that due to the training and prayers of his father, Allah Almighty has blessed us with every blessing in the world. He was the head of our family. His absence will always be felt. But man is helpless before the system of nature. But we will continue the welfare works on his behalf. We are friends who attended his funeral prayer today. We thank our friends and relatives. On this occasion, the participants said that Irshad Ahmed’s community services will always be remembered. He was the one who connected everyone with mutual unity and agreement. He was a noble soul who was dear to everyone. He was a good father, a good friend and a person full of service. May Allah Almighty elevate his ranks and grant patience to Anjum Irshad and his family members. Amen.
