Gujarat, a historic district of Punjab Pakistan, is called the “Land of Martyrs and Ghazis” due to its exemplary role in national defense and leadership. This land has produced such brave sons who not only sacrificed their lives on the battlefield but also served the country by holding the highest positions in the Pakistani armed forces and political leadership.

General (retd) Raheel Sharif, former Chief of Army Staff, is a shining symbol of Gujarat’s military prowess. His leadership skills in the war against terrorism and restoration of internal security were appreciated at the global level.

In the same vein, Admiral Muhammad Sharif, who became the first four-star Admiral of the Pakistan Navy, held the positions of Chief of Naval Staff and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee with great dignity. Under his leadership, the Navy made significant progress in strategy and modern defense systems.

The son of Gujarat, the current Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, holds a prominent place in the Air Force. During the recent tension with India, under his leadership, the Pakistan Air Force defended the country with courage and skill and proved its mettle on the global stage.

Gujarat has not been limited to military leadership only, but its role in the political arena is also prominent. Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former President Chaudhry Fazal Elahi also belong to this district. Both the leaders guided the country wisely during critical periods.

The villages and towns of this district are filled with the stories of martyrs and ghazis of 1965, 1971, Kargil and the wars against terrorism. Every martyrdom, every story of bravery highlights the great role of this region.

Gujarat is still a beacon for new generations. This district is not just a geographical region, but a living symbol of Pakistan’s determination, pride and leadership.

Long live Pakistan
