Djibouti(International News Desk) According to UG news ,A special event to observe 27th October as “ Kashmir Black Day” was held at the Embassy of Pakistan Djibouti, today. Members of the Pakistani community, civil society and the Embassy officials participated in the event.The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Special messages of the Prime Minister and DPM/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were readout by the Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Shakeel Ahmed. Ambassador Aqsa Nawaz delivered the message of the President of Pakistan on the occasion. Later, in her remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the status of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir which came under illegal occupation on 27th October1947 by the Indian military force. Since then the region has been under illegal occupation through brutal force, repression and violent means by the Indian government besides the UNSC resolutions to hold plebiscite for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people. While condemning Indian atrocities in IIOJK, the Ambassador stated that the situation was aggravating further after unilateral repealing of IIOJK’s special status indicating a deliberated effort of the occupying government to change the demographic structure of Jammu and Kashmir and to reduce the indigenous Kashmiri people into a minority. She urged the international community to play its role to immediately stop brutalities in IIOJK, resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute and implement UNSC resolutions according to the will of the Kashmiri people.The event was marked by a photo exhibition and screening of a special documentary depicting the valiant struggle of Kashmiri people. The ceremony ended with prayers for the Kashmiri people and light refreshments.
