According to Ug News Media Europe,St. Mary’s Church was robbed in the city of Martvili in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region in the west of Georgia.Ug News MEDIA EUROPE reports with reference to local mass media that the thieves who entered the temple through the window stole the main icon, silver candlesticks and a lot of money from the donation box.Note that this is the second church to be robbed in the last 6 months.Before that, last year on November 25, there was an event that shocked Georgia. Two people entered the monastery in the village of Tskhramukha of Khashuri municipality and attacked an elderly nun. They threatened the woman and demanded money and jewelry from her.The criminals beat and raped the nun who did not comply with their demands. Then they stole the donation boxes and fled the scene.
