According to Ug News Media Europe,The protest action organized by Azerbaijani eco-activists on the Lachin-Khankendi road passing through Shusha continues in a civil manner on the 28th day.The correspondent of Ug News Media Europe sent to the place of the action reports that the snow currently falling in the area does not create any obstacle to the course of the action. The purpose of the action remains unchanged. Protesters say no to the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan’s mineral deposits by Armenian separatists and demand that it be stopped immediately.The activists of the action held up posters in Russian and English that read “Stop the looting of our resources!”, “Let’s protect nature, condemn exploitation!”, “Nature has no nation!”, “Azerbaijan has wealth that will protect the nation!”, “Azerbaijan is awake, it supports its wealth!” “, “Our wealth is indivisible and cannot be given to anyone!”, “Azerbaijan is united, it owns its wealth!”, “End ecocrime!” chanting slogans. The dynamic and enthusiastic appearance of the participants of the action shows that their goals are clear. The determination of the protesters is as tough as their demands.
It should be recalled that as a result of discussions held with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent on December 3 and 7 of last year, a team consisting of experts from the Ministries of Economy, Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the State Service for Real Estate Affairs under the Ministry of Economy, and “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company joined the Russian peacekeeping mission. should have conducted initial monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the territories of Azerbaijan where the contingent was temporarily stationed, as well as the resulting environmental and other consequences. However, due to the inactivity of the peacekeepers, the monitoring did not take place. As a protest against this, Azerbaijani eco-activists started a peaceful action on the Lachin-Khankendi road passing through the Shusha territory from December 12.
