According to Media House sources, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Press Club of Pakistan UK and Pak Media Journalist Forum to promote mutual cooperation and professional ties.
This progress came during an important online meeting, which was well attended by Pakistani and overseas journalists from all over the world. The agreement was signed under the leadership of Chaudhry Noorul Hassan (Chairman, Pak Media Journalist Forum) and Sheikh Ijaz Afzal (Chairman, Press Club of Pakistan), while Dr. Abdul Rehman (President, Pak Media Journalist Forum International) and Atif Tanoli (Secretary Information) along with Hassan Chaudhry and Shakeel Qamar also attended the meeting and expressed their views.
The meeting was attended by a number of overseas journalists from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Europe, further highlighting the global significance of the initiative.
According to the announcement, the main objective of this MoU is to promote mutual recognition, cooperation and professional harmony between Pakistani and overseas journalists around the world. Under the agreement, the two organizations will recognize each other as partner organizations, respect each other’s autonomy and role, while both sides also agreed to grant honorary membership to five members each.
Furthermore, the two organizations agreed to exchange information and experiences related to journalism, media and freedom of expression, jointly organize seminars, workshops and press conferences, and work together for the professional training of Pakistani and overseas journalists, protection of rights and promotion of ethical journalism.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the need for joint and systematic efforts to provide plots in Pakistan, issue residency cards and other facilities to Pakistani and overseas journalists.
The participants termed this development as a positive and timely step and expressed their determination that this partnership would be further strengthened in the future and provide an effective platform to address the issues faced by Pakistani and overseas journalists globally.
