According to Ug News Media Europe,On the night of January 8, special forces of the German anti-terrorist police detained a 32-year-old Iranian citizen on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack on religious grounds.”Ug News Media Europe” reports with reference to “Deutsche Welle” that the special forces of the police raided the apartment of an Iranian in the city of Castrop-Rauxel at midnight.The suspect, as well as another man believed to be his brother, were taken outside in only his underwear and shirt and put into a police van. None of them resisted.”The accused is suspected of preparing a serious act of violence that poses a threat to the state,” said the spokesperson of the prosecutor’s office.
The detainee is accused of obtaining the chemical warfare agent ricin, as well as the highly toxic cyanide.Investigative authorities have not specified how far he went in planning the attack. The possible targets of the terrorist act were not reported.
According to “Bild” newspaper, the Federal Department of Criminal Affairs kept the Iranian under observation for several days. Information about the preparation of the attack was received by the German security forces from the “friendly intelligence service”.
