According to Ug News Europe,On February 9, a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev visited Nakhchivan.The local bureau of “Ug News Europe” informs that the trip started with a visit to the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev.Within the framework of the visit, the guests met with Fuad Najafli, the authorized representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Sabuhi Mammadov, the Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and other officials.It was noted that the purpose of the visit is to study and analyze the work done in the field of reclamation and irrigation in the autonomous republic, the condition of the water collected in the reservoirs, the demand for irrigation and drinking water, and to achieve further improvement of the drinking and irrigation water supply. Analyzing the autonomous republic’s natural resources, water resources, agriculture, ecological potential, adapting the development of these important areas to the requirements of the new era, and increasing its economic efficiency are among the priority tasks.
At the meeting, the current situation in the field of land reclamation and irrigation was assessed, and the work to be done was widely discussed.Experts visited Benaniyar Reservoir and canal, Nehrem Reservoir, Batabat Plateau (for snow reserves), Heydar Aliyev Reservoir, Shahbuz City Water Treatment Plant Complex, Uzunoba Water Reservoir, Nakhchivan City Water Treatment Plant Complex, Karachug Canal, “Karachug” on Araz Reservoir -1″ panton pumping station, Arpachay Reservoir, Arpachay right bank canal were inspected.
It should be noted that the delegation included Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sarvan Jafarov, Head of the State Agency for Water Resources of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hikmet Mammadov, Deputy Head of the National Hydrometeorological Service Rafig Verdiyev, Chairman of Azmelsutesarufat OJSC Zaur Mikayilov and including other officials.
