According to Ug News ,In different periods of history, the Azerbaijani people were subjected to genocide by Armenians.The Khojaly genocide that took place thirty-one years ago was a continuation of the genocidal policy committed by Armenians against our people over the past two hundred years with the help of their patrons. The lives of 613 people, including 106 women, 63 children, and 70 elderly people, were killed in this next mass massacre committed against our people by the Armenian nationalists, who were captured by the fictitious myth such as “Great Armenia”. 8 families were completely destroyed in one night. During the tragedy, 487 people were injured, 1275 civilians were captured, 150 people went missing and their fate is still unknown.During the genocide, 56 people were killed with special cruelty, 3 people were burned alive, their heads were skinned, their limbs and heads were cut off, their eyes were gouged out, and pregnant women were pierced with bayonets.Parvin Karimzade, member of Milli Majlis, member of YAP Management Board, said this in his statement to Ug News .He said that the Khojaly genocide was remembered in history by the inconceivable atrocities of the Armenian fascists. The Khojaly genocide stands alongside such terrible tragedies as the Holocaust, Oradur, Lidisa, Khatin, Songmi, and Srebrenica. This act of vandalism is a crime directed not only against the people of Azerbaijan, but against all humanity.
According to him, the legal meaning of the concept of “genocide” is determined by the Convention “On the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide and its Punishments” adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 9, 1948 with Resolution No. 260 A (III), and any national, ethnic , means complete or partial destruction of racial or religious groups. What happened in Khojaly also corresponds to this status, people in a limited geographical area were massacred precisely because they were Azerbaijanis.Genocide, damage to material and cultural monuments, environment and other acts are considered international crimes according to the definition of international crime of the International Legal Commission. Thus, the Khojaly genocide is an international crime.
The deputy noted that the historical truths about the Khojaly genocide began to be conveyed to the world after the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993. On the initiative of the Great Leader, on February 24, 1994, the Milli Majlis passed a decision on “Khojali Genocide Day”, explained the essence of this massacre to the UN and world nations, and called on the international community to take effective measures against Armenian terrorism. Also, with the decrees of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev dated December 18, 1997 “On the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis from their historical and ethnic lands in the territory of the Armenian SSR in 1948-1953” and “On the genocide of Azerbaijanis” dated March 28, 1998, Armenians Criminal acts against Azerbaijanis have received their legal and political price, and our historical memory has been restored.President Ilham Aliyev also successfully continues the policy of Heydar Aliyev. The head of our state has repeatedly noted that our policy, especially our activities abroad, the situation in which we convey the truth about Khojaly to the world community has already changed: “I am sure that the day will come when the Armenian criminals who committed the tragedy of Khojaly, showed cruelty to the civilian population, and destroyed the civilian population will be held accountable before the court. will give That day will come.Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has exceptional services in the direction of conveying the truths of Khojaly to the world, spreading these truths in the international world, and giving an objective assessment of the genocide. Books and booklets published in different languages about the “Karabagh truths” series and the destruction of cultural and historical monuments in the occupied territories, carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, were published abroad. “Justice to Khojaly!” initiated by the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. rallies, processions and events were organized in the countries of the world within the framework of the international campaign. As a result of the systematic measures implemented by the Azerbaijan state and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the world community has already begun to accept the truths of Khojaly. On every anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, many countries of the world commemorate the Khojaly victims, hold rallies, pickets, and show photos, films, and materials depicting Armenian atrocities. The fact that this terrible crime is genocide is reflected in the decisions and resolutions of many countries of the world and international organizations.Parvin Karimzade emphasized that innocent victims were avenged by our glorious army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, and the souls of all our martyrs who died in Khojaly, as well as for the sake of Karabakh, found eternal rest: ” operation defeated the enemy, saved our ancient and eternal lands from 30 years of slavery. Our people always honor the dear memory of our martyrs who were victims of Armenian vandalism and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our land.
