Leader of the Year 2025 award, Oldham Council leader Urooj Shah invited Consul General Imtiaz Feroz Gondal, Community Welfare Attaché Misbah Noreen, Trade Commercial Officer Shahrukh to his chamber and informed the Pakistani and Kashmiri community about the difficulties faced by the consulate.

Consul General Imtiaz Feroz Gondal said that we had a fruitful discussion about the issues faced by the Pakistani and Kashmiri community living in Greater Manchester at the Pakistani Consulate in Manchester and we reiterated that with the mutual cooperation of Oldham Council, we will solve the problems of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community together and we will keep in touch with each other regularly. Oldham Council Leader Urooj Shah said that we will make every effort to solve the problems of the community together. Former Mayor Councillor Dr. Zahid Chohan said that the Consul General started solving the problems of the community on a priority basis as soon as he took charge of his post and will work together to promote bilateral relations between the UK and Pakistan. Consul General Liz Taylor said that it is very important that relations are built on solid foundations between the community and the Pakistani Consulate in Manchester so that the problems of the community can be solved. Raja Aftab Sharif, Raja Amjad Iqbal said that we will play our role in solving the problems of the community together with the Consul General. Deputy Leader Councillor Abdul Jabbar said that it was very important that the Consul General play his active role in the community. He listened carefully to the problems of the community and I hope that he will make every effort to solve them on priority basis. Community Welfare Attaché Misbah Noreen, posted at the Pakistani Consulate in Manchester, said that there was a positive discussion with the community and it was a good opportunity for us, which made us aware of the facilities that Oldham Council is providing to the community.
The community appreciates the practical steps taken by Consul General Imtiaz Feroz Gondal in a short period of time to solve the problems faced by the Pakistani and Kashmiri community living in Oldham at the Pakistani Consulate in Manchester on priority basis.
