Turkey’s expectations of financial aid to refugees from Brussels

According to Ug News Media Europe,Turkey expects the European Union to fulfill its obligations under the joint plan to fight the migration crisis and to help Ankara to accept refugees.Ug News Media Europe reports that Faruk Kaymakci, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, said this at the international conference “The Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century”.Turkey currently hosts 4.2 million refugees from different countries, of which 3.5 million are Syrians. We expect more active cooperation of the international community with our country on migration issues. No country alone is able to accept so many refugees.We call on the European Union to fully fulfill its obligations under the four agreements on refugees, mainly on financial assistance,” the diplomat said. According to him, we are talking about the obligation to allocate 3.3 billion euros to Turkey.
Faruk Kaymakci also said that more than 500,000 refugees have returned from Turkey to Syria and this process will continue in the future.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced in May of last year that 200,000 houses will be built for refugees returning to Syria.Returning Syrians are planned to be accommodated in towns that will be built in safe zones controlled by Ankara.Within the framework of the project, more than 1 million Syrian refugees will be able to return to their homeland.It should be recalled that in 2016, the heads of state and government of the European Union agreed with Ankara on a joint plan to combat the migration crisis, which includes financial assistance to Turkey for accepting Syrian refugees.
