In commemoration of the 2022 International Widows Day, the International Human Rights Commission has reiterated commitments to widows’ fundamental rights and protection, urging State actors on programs and policies for ending violence against widows and their children, poverty alleviation, education, and other support to widows of all ages including in the context of action plans to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
