Establishment of special courts for quick resolution of property disputes of overseas Pakistanis

Establishment of special courts is a practical implementation of the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of transparent and fair governance: Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab

Lahore Governor Punjab, in consultation with the Chief Justice Lahore High Court, has approved the establishment of special courts across the province under the “Punjab Special Courts (Overseas Pakistani Property) Act 2025” and has appointed judges in all districts of Punjab. These courts are being established to deal with property disputes, illegal encroachments and protection of property rights of overseas Pakistanis. The aim of this initiative is to ensure speedy, transparent and effective justice to overseas Pakistanis for resolving their legal issues. According to a notification issued by S&GAD, District and Additional District and Sessions Judges have been appointed as judges of special courts in all districts of Punjab. These courts will hear cases related to properties of overseas Pakistanis expeditiously so that justice can be provided to them without unnecessary delay. Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab said that this initiative is part of the vision of the Punjab government under which legal protection, investment confidence and restoration of civil rights are being provided to overseas Pakistanis. He said that the establishment of the courts will expedite the decisions of cases of overseas Pakistanis, legal action against the land grabbing mafia will be made effective and new opportunities will be created for the promotion of foreign investment in the province. The Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab further said that the Punjab government considers overseas Pakistanis as an integral part of national development and is taking all possible steps to protect their rights. The establishment of these special courts is a practical expression of the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab under which the province is being built on the principles of justice, transparency and civic welfare.
