According to Ug News Europe,Finnish President Sauli Niinistö will visit Turkey tomorrow.During the visit, the issue of Finland’s membership in NATO will be discussed.Ug News Europe reports with reference to Anadolu agency that it was informed by the administration of the President of Turkey.”President of Finland Sauli Niinistö will visit Turkey on March 16-17 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.During the visit, in addition to the discussion of bilateral relations, there will be an exchange of views on the issue of Finland’s membership in NATO,” the administration said.According to information, during the meeting, the parties will also discuss Turkey’s relations with the European Union, as well as pay attention to regional and global problems against the background of the tripartite memorandum signed within the Madrid summit of NATO.The memorandum signed between Turkey, Finland and Sweden last year includes the fulfillment of the conditions put forward by Ankara for Helsinki and Stockholm’s membership in the alliance. It should be noted that at the beginning of July, the foreign ministers of Finland and Sweden, as well as the ambassadors of 30 countries that are members of the North Atlantic Alliance, signed a protocol on the admission of both countries to NATO at an official ceremony held at the bloc’s headquarters. After the documents are ratified by all the countries of the alliance, Finland and Sweden will be able to join NATO.Currently, only two of the 30 countries of the alliance – Hungary and Turkey – have not ratified those protocols. In return, Ankara demanded from Stockholm and Helsinki the extradition of Kurdish activists accused of terrorist activities, as well as those who participated in the coup attempt in Turkey in 2016.Among them are former Turkish soldiers who used to work in the international structures of NATO, but later received asylum in Finland and Sweden.
