The ceremony was attended by a large number of local citizens, including political, social and community figures. The Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Shaukat Ali, Mayor Radharam Haroon Rashid, Mayor Rochdale Rana Faisal and Leader of Rochdale Council Neil Emmett and Deputy Leader Ali Adalat were special guests at the ceremony. Former Mayors Muhammad Zaman, Aftab Hussain, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Arshad – Syed Munir Ahmed Chishti – Basharat – Aitzaz Asim Chaudhry were also present on the occasion. The participants appreciated Councillor Shakeel Ahmed’s public services and his deep commitment to the community. The speakers said that the fifth consecutive term of success is a practical proof of his integrity and public trust. He added that Shakeel Ahmed has always played a key role in solving the problems of his ward.
