A special event to raise awareness about Islamophobia in Rochdale. Mayor Rochdale Councilor Shakeel Ahmed, Head of Policy, Performance and Procurement in Rochdale Council Bin Greenwood, Organizer of the event Umira Taha, Chair Councilor Samina Zaheer and warm social and community figure Ghulam Rasool Shahzad and others participated. Organizer Umira Taha said that the purpose of organizing the event was to raise awareness about Islamophobia and invite the intercultural and religious community at the local level to get an opportunity to know each other’s views and strengthen mutual relations. Person Employment and Quality Committee Councilor Samina Zaheer said that intercultural and interfaith community working professionals in various departments of Rochdale Council are invited to educate them on how to deal with Islamophobia. Rasool Shahzad said that you will know that the United Nations has recognized Islamophobia, that people should be informed about it so that it can be dealt with in a better way. The efforts of the Rochdale Council are commendable in this regard.
