DJIBOUTI:(International News Desk)According to UG NEWS,The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed at the Embassy of Pakistan, Djibouti with great zeal, today. Pakistani community in Djibouti and local officials and friends attended the event and expressed their support to the just and legal cause of the Kashmiri people for self-determination. The ceremony commenced with recitation of the Holy Qur’an which was followed by the special messages of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister of Pakistan in support of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) read out by the Deputy Head of Mission. Ambassador Aqsa Nawaz read the President’s message on the occasion and emphasised to continue providing political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people for their right of self-determination and freedom from oppression in her remarks. She mentioned the state of human rights violation committed by the Indian occupied forces against innocent Kashmiri people, suppression of fundamental freedoms, illegal detention of Kashmiri leaders as well as killing of women, children and journalist in the so called “biggest democracy” of the world. The Ambassador also pointed out that India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August, 2019 in IIOJK were a blatant violation of the UN charter, UNSC resolutions, international law and the 4th Geneva Convention. She called on the international community to take notice of the deteriorating situation in IIOJK and resolve the oldest dispute on the agenda of the UN Security Council. Special documentary depicting the valiant struggle of Kashmiri people and Indian atrocities was also screened at the event. The Embassy thanked all attendees for their participation and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cultural and religious values among the Pakistani diaspora in Djibouti.
