In which prominent figures of the community, former Mayor of Rochdale Councillor Shakeel Ahmed, former Mayor of Bari Councillor Shahina Haroon, President of PML-N Trade Wing UK Chaudhry Khalid Hanjra – Founder of APPS, Dr. Abdul Hafeez – Chief Executive of Easy Money, Dr. Liaquat Malik – Solicitor Maqbool Malik – PML-N Spain leader Faiz Ahmed Tard – President of Legal Wing Rana Zia Aslam – Former Sessions Judge Ilyas Gondal – Businessman Syed Muhammad Abid – Solicitor Zahid Mustafa – and others participated. Barrister Amjad Malik said that he is hopeful that the new Consul General will utilize all resources to serve the community. The Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab is also busy supporting the community in every way. A special desk for expatriates is being set up and they are being provided with the facility to lodge complaints online from home. Steps are being taken to implement the announcements made by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif at the Expatriates Convention in Islamabad. He further said that mutual unity and consensus within the community is very important. Consul General Imtiaz Feroz Gondal said that revolutionary changes have been made in the provision of passports and other facilities within the consulate. The Pakistani community should help the flood victims in Pakistan – Former Mayor of Bari Shahina Haroon and former Mayor of Rochdale Councillor Shakeel Ahmed congratulated the new Consul General on assuming office and expressed hope that he would leave no stone unturned in serving the community. Dr. Abdul Hafeez said that the Consul General has given a positive message to the community that we should demonstrate mutual unity and understanding in the UK. Dr. Liaquat Malik said that the new Consul General is a hardworking and optimistic person and will serve the community to the fullest. Khalid Chaudhry said that the credit for organizing such a beautiful event goes to Brigadier (retd) Arshad Malik. Other participants in the dinner expressed hope that the new Consul General Imtiaz Feroze Gondal and Barrister Amjad Malik, Vice Chairman of the Overseas Pakistani Commission Punjab, will make every effort to resolve the problems of the community. The participants of the event reiterated that the Pakistani Consulate Manchester and the Overseas Pakistani Commission Punjab will spare no effort in taking immediate action on the issues and complaints of the Pakistani community.
