Nottingham, “We’re stronger together.”

Spread the love

In the heart of Nottingham, at Karimia Institute – a vibrant and diverse community came together on Friday 9th August 2024. Transcending cultural and religious boundaries, to stand united against the rising tide of right-wing extremism. Their collective efforts demonstrate resilience, compassion, and a commitment to mutual support.

To put it in context, Right-wing extremism is not confined to any single region; it’s a national or even a global phenomenon. Populist nationalist movements, anti-immigrant sentiments, and anti-Islam rhetoric have gained traction in recent years. Nottingham, like many other cities, has witnessed the impact of these ideologies. The challenge lies in addressing this extremism without inadvertently excluding any community or perpetuating xenophobia.

Nottingham’s multicultural fabric is rich and varied. People from different backgrounds—whether Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu, Christian, or others—call this city home.
