Former Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Yasmin Dar, Chairperson of the International Lobby on Kashmir, held a detailed meeting with the Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, on the Kashmir issue. Later, she met more than fifteen British Members of Parliament and briefed them about the Indo-Pak war and the ongoing Indian atrocities on Kashmiris. On the call of Barrister Imran Hussain MP, Chairman of the All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group, Deputy Ministers of the British Foreign Office, thirteen members of both houses of the British Parliament and representatives of Amnesty International attended this special meeting and gave a briefing and got to know the views of the members of the British Parliament. The personalities who attended this very important meeting included Barrister Imran Hussain, Member of the British Parliament, British Foreign Minister for South Asia Mr. Hamish Falconer MP, Miss Catherine West MP, Lord Wajid Khan, Minister for Faith and Communities, Debbie Abrahams MP, Lord Qurban Hussain, Barrister Yasmin Qureshi MP, Muhammad Yasin MP, Tahir Ali MP, Rebecca Long Bailey MP, Richard Bergen MP, Ibtisam Muhammad MP, Ian Liverly MP, Tan Desi MP, Rachel Hopkins MP, Oliver Ryan MP and Muhammad Iqbal MP are included. Councillor Yasmin Dar expressed these views while talking to the media exclusively and said that she is continuing the activities of the International Lobby on Kashmir under the patronage of the movement leader Raja Najabat Hussain and in this regard, she met the Pakistani High Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Faisal and informed him about the movement’s upcoming programs, the Kashmir Committee’s visit to the UK and the delegations visiting the UK from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan, as well as the movement’s contacts with Labour Party ministers, members of the British Parliament and other political and social organizations. She said that the officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Self-Determination International are organizing events across the UK, passing resolutions in favor of Pakistan and the Pakistani armed forces, and holding various town halls. While congratulating the newly elected Lord Mayors, Mayors and Councillors, he is also urging them to work on the Kashmir issue. In this regard, various events will be organized in Manchester, Bradford, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, Peterborough and London to mobilize the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities so that they can succeed in getting as many MPs on their side as possible to avoid future threats and possible war threats from India. Councillor Yasmin Dar said that while she informed Dr. Faisal about the movement officials and briefed him on the Kashmir issue by meeting with the MPs, the Kashmir issue has emerged as a flashpoint after the recent tension between Pakistan and India and this is an issue due to which there has been tension between Pakistan and India for decades, which can intensify at any time. We expect that the international community, especially the British government, will take its stand. Based on the long-standing relations, Pakistan and India can play a key role in resolving the Kashmir issue through trilateral talks. Yasmin Dar said that Raja Najabat Hussain and his entire team are committed to the stability of Pakistan, the security of Pakistan and the welfare of the people in the free region, as well as to achieving the human rights of the people of occupied Kashmir. We will continue to play our diplomatic role in the struggle of our oppressed and subjugated Kashmiri people and will continue to present the Kashmir issue without discrimination among all political parties in Britain, as we have done in the past. We also expect British members of parliament to support the movement for the right to self-determination of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and to fully support us in shaping public opinion for a plebiscite under the supervision of the United Nations in all areas of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
