. Rochdale Council Mayor, Councillor Janet Emsley and other prominent figures including. Spring Hill Hospice representative Jo, Hayley Watson, Liz Dot, Ryan Brierley, Muhammad Javed Mughal – Altaf Hussain – Council Officer Nazim were present. Former Mayor, Councillor Shakeel Ahmed said that it was an honour for him to be among his trustees during his mayoral term. We had collected a large amount of money and today we are distributing it among various charities that are doing voluntary services to improve the lives of the local community. Mayor Rochdale Councillor Janet Emsley said: “We have given money to the charities chosen by former Mayor Councillor Shakeel Ahmed which will benefit the community. My best wishes are with Councillor Shakeel Ahmed and I hope to raise more money during my term as Mayor.” Ryan Bradley said: “Thank you to former Mayor Councillor Shakeel Ahmed who raised a lot of money for charities.” Jo, a representative of Spring Hill Hospice, said: “The money that former Mayor Councillor Shakeel Ahmed has raised for the hospice will benefit us in providing facilities to patients and their families.”
