Under the Punjab Waqf Properties (Amendment) Act, 2020, which came into force after approval from the Punjab Assembly last year, registration of all waqf properties with the Chief Administrator of Punjab was made mandatory. Notification No. SOP-5 (1) DDE / 2019 states that all such Waqf properties which are in the custody of the Department of Endowments but are managed privately should be registered under Punjab Waqf Properties (Registration) Rules 2020 within 90 days. In this regard, the endowment administrator said that a survey of unregistered courts, mosques and madrassas has been started. In the first phase, notices have been issued to unregistered courts located in Jhelum city. He said that the purpose of registration is to provide trusts to all trusts. It is to be brought on record that under which the management of all courts and shrines will be required to submit details of annual income to which notices have been issued to those courts. He said that computer and language courses are also being started for the students studying in religious madrassas in collaboration with Toyota. Language courses including computer hardware, software and MS Word will also be imparted to the students of registered madrassas so that These students will be able to stand on their own feet with the benefit of worldly knowledge along with religious education. Certificates will also be issued to the students doing courses through Toyota from Punjab Technical and Vocational Institute.
