Overseas Pakistanis hold online conference on Independence Day, expressing their resolve to unite and remain loyal to Pakistan

Lahore: A special online Zoom conference was held on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Punjab and Vice Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab Barrister Amjad Malik, in which leaders of the Pakistani community living in different countries of the world, office bearers of the Muslim League (N) and prominent personalities participated. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ was presented. Later, the participants took turns recording their special messages, in which they congratulated the nation on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and expressed their feelings for the development, prosperity, stability and security of the beloved homeland. The conference was attended by Coordinator Europe Qamar Riaz Khan, Coordinator Southeast Asia Dr. Mian Sabir Hussain, Coordinator Scandinavia Asad Ayaz, and Coordinator Hong Kong Imran Khan.
While Sheikh Saeed from Saudi Arabia, Raheel Dar from the United States, Shazia Shaukat (South Africa), Dr. Sabir Hussain (South Korea), Ali Sultan (Malaysia), Mehr Aftab Rumi (Denmark), Imran Khan (Hong Kong), Nadeem Hafeez (Bahrain), Sohail Warraich (Canada), Shama Butt (Portugal), Khalid Sulehria (Secretary General, South Africa), Abdul Basit Khan (Secretary General, Netherlands), Mirza Umar Baig (Malaysia), Tariq Butt (Philippines), Asad Ayaz Sweden, Sarwat Hussain Bahrain and Faisal Manzoor Holland, and other overseas Pakistani representatives participated. The participants congratulated the entire nation and overseas Pakistanis on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day and said that Pakistan came into existence as a result of the eternal sacrifices of millions of Muslims. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every Pakistani to play a positive role in the development of the country by promoting unity, brotherhood and national solidarity. During the conference, a detailed discussion was also held on the growing diplomatic and defense importance of Pakistan at the global level. The participants termed the defense cooperation agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey as an important and positive development and expressed the hope that it would further strengthen mutual cooperation, security and defense ties between the three brotherly Islamic countries. Barrister Amjad Malik said in his address that overseas Pakistanis are a valuable asset of Pakistan and the true ambassadors of the country. Pakistanis living around the world are making Pakistan famous through their hard work, ability and positive role and are also playing an important role in the country’s economy. He said that keeping the leadership of overseas Pakistanis united on one platform and taking effective steps to resolve their problems is among the top priorities of OPC Punjab. He said that Independence Day provides us with an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of our elders and national heroes as well as renew our resolve that we will play our full role in making Pakistan a stronger, prosperous and developed country. At the end of the conference, the participants expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Barrister Amjad Malik’s brother-in-law, Solicitor Nadeem Malik. On this occasion, Fateha was offered for the departed soul and prayers were offered to Allah Almighty for the deceased’s forgiveness, elevation of ranks and patience for his family. Finally, special prayers were also offered for the security, stability, prosperity and development of Pakistan and a resolve was expressed that Pakistanis living around the world will continue their role for the development and promotion of a positive image of their beloved homeland. The conference ended with slogans of Pakistan Zindabad.
