Ever since it opened in 1996, Pak Foods, in Normanton Road, has offered a heady mix of fruit, vegetables and other products, many of which are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere in the city.
The firm’s website claims it to be the largest ethnic food retailer in the Midlands, with other stores in Nottingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Leicester, and Peterborough.
This weekend, the family-owned business will open a new branch in Burton, Staffordshire Live reports.
The supermarket, which will create 15 jobs, will officially open in the former Tile Choice unit, in Derby Road, at 8.30am on Saturday, March 12.
The company sells a range of “international ethnic food products”. It stocks everything from the best-known consumer brands to more niche, hard-to-find food products.
PAK Foods director Adeel Akhtar said: “True to our mission of absolute customer satisfaction, PAK Foods has previously been awarded the winner of ‘East Midlands Best Retail Awards’, for overall excellence in the field of food retailing.

The store will also bring an economic boost to the area and support the town’s post-Covid recovery plans. A lot of work has gone into this and all the family are working really hard behind the scenes.
“We have a long history of working within our local communities on social improvement, regeneration and charitable projects and are very much looking forward to continuing this in Burton. The company has plans to expand and improve further, with store refurbishments, completely new stores, an expanding property portfolio and diversifying into new markets – all on the horizon.
