In this regard, a grand gala dinner and a mystical Qawwali night were organized in Manchester, in which Consul General of Pakistan Imtiaz Feroz Gondal – Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councilor Shaukat Ali, Dr. Liaquat Malik – Community Welfare Attaché Misbah Noreen Razia Chaudhry and other important personalities participated.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Younis Parwaz. Rabia Sheikh performed the duties of the stage secretary in a good manner. The cake was also cut. The volunteers of the Brunch Group, including Riffat Karim, Ezra Khatun, Salma Neel, Tayyaba Furqan, Sadia Waris, Nasreen Shafiq, and Gulnaz Mahood, were given special shields by the chief guest. The chief guest at the event, Consul General Imtiaz Feroz Gondal and Community Welfare Attaché Misbah Noreen, appreciated the tireless work of the organization’s spirit Seema Sheikh and her team and said that such organizations are the biggest support for our mothers and sisters living abroad. Brunch Buddies is bringing our British-Pakistani women together on a platform and solving their problems that are often ignored. I congratulate Seema Sheikh and her entire team on their 15-year journey. Lord Mayor and Councillors Shaukat Ali and Razia Chaudhry said that Brunch Buddies’ weekly health and social programme has become a great milestone for the unity of the community and the mental and physical health of women. Chaudhry Abdul Karim and Faisal Karim of Cornerstone Property Group also called it the duty of the community to cooperate in this noble cause. Rabia Sheikh – Zaik Sheikh – Mustafaia Sharif Chairman Dr. Faisy – Naghmana Kanwal Sheikh – Mother Anil Mussarat – Farzana Afzal – and others appreciated the work of Brunch Buddies Group for the community and especially for women. World-renowned Qawwal Saleem Sabri and Waseem Sabri Group performed Qawwali in their distinctive voice and style, captivating the gathering and forcing the participants to dance. Syed Maroof Hashmi of Bari Imam led a special prayer.
The Pakistani community in Manchester says that such events not only keep their culture alive away from home but also promote love and brotherhood among themselves.
